Building energy independence for Matinicus Isle
Matinicus Plantation Electric Company (MPEC), which provides electric power to the residents of Matinicus Isle, is issuing an RFP for the design of a new community (grid-scale) solar energy and energy storage plant. MPEC’s generation, transmission and distribution system is a wholly owned and restricted transmission system, with no interconnection to ISO-New England (“ISO-NE”).
